Teach a Child & Learn yourself - Simple Sayings by Alfred
You can’t teach a child if you don’t:
- speak in a soft, gentle tone
- Use simple words
- Use lot of verbs
- Tell stories with happy endings
- Make eye contact
- Are not genuine. They pick up body language
- keep it short and interesting
- Repeat key words
- Repeat the story again, many times
- End with a Moral of the story. Even a child learns best when you go down to their level
- If appropriate, hold hands, give a warm hug, a kiss, a pat in the back, a twiggle to the nose, cheek or chin,
- Wait patiently for a reaction if at all
- Monkey around – Be the Joker, horse, warrior, train, whatever helps the child’s imagination
